Ian and his castmates from Vampire Diaries attended the 2011 Teen Choice Awards in August where Ian presented the award for 'Choice Movie Actor in Romantic Comedy'. Ian also won the award for 'Choice TV Actor Fantasy/Sci-Fi' whilst the Vampire Diaries won for the 'Choice TV Show Fantasy/Sci-Fi'
